Hi,

Since I updated Windows 10 a few days ago my computer won't boot. It displays the Lenovo logo screen, but doesn't go any further. It doesn't load any Windows screen for me to attempt recovery environment.

I don't know how to recover it. Can you help?

Thanks

    Hi Bruno.

Try taking the battery out, as JJ has mentioned. I have a PC, so this wont work for me:

Try taking the battery out completely, leave it out for a minute or two, then reinstall it.  It's a pretty simple operation.  That's the only way I found to get it to boot and it doesn't lose any files that way.

Otherwise, have you tried all of the steps I mentioned? You may need to look up how to do each one if you are not familiar with it. Search on some of the keywords I mentioned and follow suggested steps from trusted sources.

If you have done these steps, then if I think we're both in the same boat until someone can identify a solution. I feel like I've tried everything that I can :-(

Thanks JJ. It's an all-in-one PC rather than a laptop, so no easy way to remove the battery (assuming it has one? lol).

I just watched a video of someone dismantling the Lenovo C50-30 PC bit by bit, and it didn't look like there was a battery. :-(

Are there other options I can explore?

    Hi there.

I attempted a Windows 10 update on 5th Nov, was stuck at 30% for a while but eventually moved on. I left it overnight and the following morning, it was stuck on a black screen with the manufacturer's logo (Lenovo). Windows will not boot. It has been that way ever since. I can't get past this screen with the manufacturer's logo and have tried a few different things (see below). How can I get past this screen?

As Window will not boot, I am unable to carry out any steps from within Windows itself. BIOS and Boot Menu appear to be my only options at the moment, but not succeeding from here either (see below).

    My PC:

    • Lenovo C50-30
    • Intel I3-4005U
    • 8GB RAM
    • Windows 10 (PC originally came with Windows 8.1)

Here's what I've done so far:

    1. Unplugged the PC a number of times. Switched on/off using the power button. No change.
    2. Switched on/off using the power button 3 times (have tried this several times), but it does not go to Repair mode. No change.
    3. Created a Windows 10 bootable USB flash drive (selected the language as English UK, as the computer was bought in the UK, and 64 bit). Gone into the BIOS, changed the boot sequence so the USB flash drive is first, disabled Secure Boot, enabled CSM, set Boot Mode to legacy, disabled Quick Boot. Switched on/off using the power button, still no change. Have done this several times.
    4. Same as point 3, but with a different USB flash drive. Still no change.
    5. Same as point 3, but gone into the Boot Menu, USB flash drive is first on the list. Select the USB flash drive (only legacy option is selectable). This time I get a black screen with no manufacturer's logo, but still nothing is happening. Sounds like no processing is going on either.

I am at wits end here. I feel like I may have to buy a new laptop/PC to replace this PC, but that's the absolute last resort! I have lots of work on this PC, and really can't afford to lose those files.

Any advice and guidance is very much appreciated. Thank you
