Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Yeah im with you on that, just playing other games until they manage to actually fix it

    Seems it affected more people this time but at least they know exactly what the issue is so I expect a fix will be given shortly, just wish they would  actually fix it permanently

    I doubt they even know what the issue is. This has been going on back and forth for over a year ever since it came out, looking back at all the reddit/forum/here posts it boils down to whether you are lucky or not. Whenever they rolled out an update, basically you just need to pray that you're on the "playable" side.

    Also I noticed that today there's a small update in MS Store for FH4. Whoever got their problem fixed, congrats. I wasn't that lucky though.

    They actually do know what the issue is as I found out speaking to wolf on discord, it had never worked for me until the first hotfix and then it worked same as it did for many of us, then they gave out the second hotfix which broke it again

    you are not far off, its more like a credential check time out issue,

    that the game cant verify in checks, sometimes times out

    well at least they are getting to the problem. I suppose the trouble is so many of us have varied system set ups. I think they will get it eventually,just have to wait a bit more.
