Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    "Now forza are off for the weekend,so nothing will be looked at until monday at the earliest. all looking forward to playing this morning....****!" Then yes it really does suck I really wish I hadn't updated :(

    Hi. I have it working again by my old method of running demo version ,drive in that then escape and click buy, then store opens,click on play ,I had to click it about 20 times, I was just going to give up when it started. Once it's started close window on store and demo.  I won't be beaten!
