Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    There's no telling until it happens. If it was me, I'd wait for a patch.

    only affected me after i bought add on for the base game.

    I wouldn't waste your money, spend it on something where support are actually helpful. I also doubt the patch will do anything so yeah get your money back!

    Does this problem affect everybody?  Thinking about buying but don't want to waste my time if there's no chance it will work.

    From what I've seen in helping people in the Discord play to player support it's been people that Purchased the Standard Edition, and then Purchased the Ultimate Add On. I purchased the Ultimate Edition as well as my son, we have it installed on two PC's and two Xbox systems, Xbox one and xbox one x.

    Any of you have the problem from purchasing the Ultimate Edition upfront and not the ADD On?

    I've also heard an update will be released to fix this as well. Next update will be next Wednesday, don't know if it will be included in that update.

    I bought the ultimate edition. Just hope it works on Wednesday, is that the 12th or 19th?
