Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    No, as I do not have an issue with this title. But for other Movie rentals, movie purchases and an app purchase through the store, it has worked all three times.

    i now have it working on both pc's both are different ,on my older pc i can start by opening the game from xbox companion then go from that to microsoft store and click play.can take several attempts but it starts .then once up and running right click  store and close window,same for companion. but i did download the demo version on main pc,as my earlier post states.

    Nice workaround, I'm sure you would like to just be able to launch the game.
