Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    yes they are ****. it was the demo i downloaded it was just under 30gb. this morning i got it running again but had problems before with my pc, the external drive where i have everything saved wasnt being recognised by pc .Oh what fun. after restarts its ok now. Why cant it be easy? i told forza how i got it running but nothing back from them at moment .I hope it helps others. Good luck!

    Demo has downloaded but the base game isn't I have had more than enough of this Microsoft are absolute garbage, store is also garbage and Forza. Meh I had part of it downloaded on my built in Administrator account thus it wasn't downloaded ffs lol. Currently downloading I am trying it from the microsoft store website to see if that helps

    The demo hackery not worked for me. You are a lucky one. Btw FM7, FH3 works flawlessly and every other game I bought. It's a joke...

    I tried to download the demo last night and the Microsoft Store wouldn't let me. Still waiting for a fix on the original issue.
