Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Can't you ask what the general progres is on that particular fix pls?

    So after downloading the other version and checking event viewer I was told I was missing three .dlls which I promptly installed concrt140_app.dll, vccorlib140_app.dll and vcruntime140_app.dll and now it doesn't open for three seconds and closes but the app hangs now instead lol. So a little bit further but not fixed yet. I am NOT giving up I paid for it so I want it working.

    Regardless though this is a complete joke, we are suppose to be the customer and shouldn't have to fix it ourselves!

    I just had the same problem on old pc.so I went to Microsoft store signed in,then buy forza horizon 4 when it comes up click install/play then play. and it started. it recognises you own it.

    as for waiting for them to sort it ,we still have to wait.
