Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Hi yes it needs sorting soon.maybe we should tell them to look at this thread and it may get them looking a bit harder once they see the amount of problems they have created.also why are they still selling the ultimate add ons?

    I did do a complete clean install though, with nothing left. 

    I did two complete reinstalls, one I installed forza with all the addons and it didn't work. I reinstalled last time and just put on the base game and it worked. After I installed the addons it stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled again and it's not working. 

    I use my computer for work, so I can't just reinstall it outside of the holiday break, so maybe next month.

    i have 2 pcs and i have just got one to run the game my new pc with latest windows wont work on it but the other is running it. i went to forza app , more, settings, turn background app off scroll dow to add ons and uninstall each one .one at a time. then went to microsoft store and uninstalled store app. this option not available on new windows pc. the old pc now runs the game and includes all the add ons automat

    don't install add ons. go to app  settings and uninstall the add ons one at a time if you get the game to launch it will recognise your add ons automatically. installing add ons is the cause of not working
