Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    It was surprising for me too, but it only lasted 1 week :( I really want to try battle royale mode of the game, I'm curious that how they implemented into a racing game

    Well, myself I waited well over 7 months for a fix, they put one out and then a patch they put out 2 days after bricked the game again. And others have been waiting a lot longer or just as long as I have, and I'm amazed you got it to run again even if just a week.

    Yeah its frustrating i know. I am a lucky one though as i can start it by running demo version/pause then try buying from within the demo,which then opens store and says i own it then click play.sometimes it takes several attempts at clicking play,but then it starts ,i then close store and demo and play as normal. Can take about 15 minutes to start this way. 

    In the mean time i just keep everything up to date and wait for the fix.
