Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    there must be something wrong with the game,i can play it on old pc but not new one. its frustrating!

    I got a reply back from them saying my Xbox live was not valid which is utter nonsense as I had been playing Halo reach online from my Xbox game pass

    blast it! i tried on my new pc but didnt work on that. even had a new driver from nvidia today but still no good. cant even do an online chat with forza,have to start a ticket .......waiting.......waiting. at least they could us an update on the situation. they will be losing a lot of customers for any new stuff they bring out.

    I just had the same problem on old pc.so I went to Microsoft store signed in,then buy forza horizon 4 when it comes up click install/play then play. and it started. it recognises you own it.

    as for waiting for them to sort it ,we still have to wait.

    Can't you ask what the general progres is on that particular fix pls? 

    They just replied with "We will make an announcement once its ready".
