Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Yeah I also noticed Forza the base game doesn't show that it's been installed

    Just had a Microsoft technician screen share my computer and his conclusion is that there are missing files so I'm going to continue to reinstall and uninstall until it works, that's provided it ever does lol

    I tried to download the demo last night and the Microsoft Store wouldn't let me. Still waiting for a fix on the original issue.
