Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Totally agree, downloading it yet again smdh. Quick Google search.....

    I'm going to keep downloading the standard edition until I can get that to load, who knows maybe it will.

    yes agree, microsoft send you to xbox they send you to forza, and i still have a ticket open,with all the other tickets closed. all because of the add ons killing the base game. they must all be passing the buck. surely someone higher up would pick this up and ask why this isnt being fixed? They need a rocket up there a..se!!

    I can't believe this is still happening even Microsoft were clueless after screen sharing, it's annoying as **** just submitted another ticket to Forza as well this MUST get addressed it's getting beyond a joke

    sometimes when you start the main game whilst the demo and store are open it takes a couple of hits on the play button. Sorry if it didnt work. we must all have slightly different set ups. i will keep on at them, maybe they will get it fixed eventually. i had the same problem couple of years ago with forza 6 apex .then when i tried it just before xmas it started normally. hope its not going to take couple of years though.
