Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    I've had an issue with the Microsoft Store and purchases in the past. The only way I've ever had someone fix them for me is to physically remove the item from my list of purchased items (I no longer own it). then repair the store by removing cache, etc. reboot. Open the store and find the item, and see that I have to purchase to own. The support person would then ADD the item back into my store. I would close the store, open it back up and see I now owned it.

    this provides a new license key, system registration keys, etc. I rebooted, came back up and no longer had any issues with my purchase.

    Has anyone tried this?

    Was due to not having VC Redist 2015, fixed that already :) I can't reply on discord because I was banned lol

    Really hope somebody figures this out, I bought the game and am also having an issue. Installed and haven't even managed to play it yet :( I'm not even getting any errors in event viewer though? Okay I found the event log lol

    I couldn't agree more

    Soon, we have a team actively looking into this issue as we speak, please be patient, for now, if you can reset, or can you access the game using another gamertag?

    Tried using another gamertag same result. I have even left a suggestion on the feedback hub asking about a checksum utility for Microsoft store so after downloading the game there is a check to verify everything is there. It's simple things like that where Microsoft seem to fail.

    yep ...this has been going on so long its absolutely stupid. one guy on youtube says there will soon be a patch to fix this........that was 2018. what a joke!
