Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Thing is they should know how to rectify again being as they fixed it in the first place, I bet they kind of knew it would happen though, it was only a hotfix. I'm assuming they are working on a permanent fix and the update was supposed to be it maybe?

    I had an update waiting so I downloaded and installed it and boom there goes the game, I got updates for games in Store turned off for that very reason. I was playing it earlier lol, was fun because I suck bad at it hence solo offline mode always but still. I have submitted a ticket already

    Same here.  I played in Lego last night because I couldn't load the main land.  I can't even play Lego today, just crashes after the initial loading screen again.
