Forza Horizon 4 won't launch

It ran great until I bought the Ultimate Add-Ons bundle, now it simply crashes after showing the splash screen for 30 seconds.

From the event viewer:

Edit 12/13/2019: After installing the latest update last night, the game seemed to start fine. I will continue to update this post with status.

Edit 12/14/2019: The game no longer starts.

Edit 12/28/2019: See user realcoda's post on page 5 for a solution. Be sure to back up everything on your PC before attempting as it involves editing your registry.

Edit 2/19/2020: The game runs after today's patch.

Edit 2/21/2020: Today's patch has reintroduced the original issue.

    Thanks for taking the time out to report this issue in! It's definitely troubling to hear that happen in the game and we want to make Forza the best racing game possible for fans and players like yourself.

    We are currently investigating this issue and I've added your information to our investigation. I am marking this ticket as "Solved" as we do not require more information from you for our investigation and are working on a fix. We don't need to bother you with a ton of questions or troubleshooting tips, as its being worked on by our devs already.

    We will send out an announcement to the Community when we have a resolution.

    There is no fix coming, this issue has been happening to people ever since the release of the LEGO expansion. We're ****.

    I'm going to try two more things before I get some sleep A) Making sure Steam, Uplay, Origin and Rockstar launcher are not running because apparently they will also cause it not to work (as mentioned for the cracked version) and B) try loading the game up whilst offline (as suggested by Forza)

    it is so frustrating.... I just managed to get it to run on my old pc but cant get it on new pc. I had to launch many times ,just about to give up and up it popped. forza replied to me and closed my ticket but did say the devs are working on a fix ,so when they do they will inform the community. in other words we wait. I have exhausted all I know and tried everything. its probably one small file that's causing so much grief.

    all we can do is wait now,and every so often have another go at them. oh well back to steam

    I wonder how many people have messed up there pc's trying to sort?
