I honestly wish I could help you, but I personally feel that the only folks that can help any of us is Microsoft, as to why they keep releasing these bad updates is beyond me. I have spent days here, reading and troubleshooting as the team from Microsoft has suggested all to NO AVAIL!!
A lot of folks haven't even been able to revert their systems from what I've read, as I stated previously. I did manage to revert my system, but again all to no avail. What ever these updates are doing, it's making deep system changes and it is left behind when rolling it back to your previous configuration. I have used tools, that the Microsoft Team has suggested, again, very sorry to say, all to no avail. Do yourself the favor and don't waste your time trying to do as these tech guys have suggested. I for one have been playing with computers since the late IBM 286 Computer back in the early 1980's and I personally have found it's easier to wipe my drive clean instead of wasting hours upon hours trying everything the team here suggests. I know every here means well and we are a family of users, but it's time some one just say's it; DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, WIPE YOUR "C" DRIVE CLEAN!!
I had not even finished restoring my system from the previous update, I believe it was the 1909 and here comes 2004, now I've been reading about another release is about to hit us after this 2004. If it continues this way, I am going to take a hard look at Linux. Microsoft is not leaving any other choice. Here I am again recovering from the 2004 update, each time, each update has caused major update problems. in 1909 it would take approx 30 minutes before my system would login. Then when it did, nothing functioned right. Chrome was locking up, even after I uninstalled it and rebooted, then reinstalled it again. All to no avail, I ended up having to reformat my SSD M.2 "C" drive. I have learned, that when you install all the updates prior to loading any other software, my system runs perfectly, that was for 1909, then I ended up having to wipe my drive again with this current release, number 2004. Why? Well because next to nothing would work, even after rolling it back. What a ..... mess!
Again, when I installed the OS with all the updates prior to any other software my system is running perfectly. As I already stated, I am mad as **** because Microsoft is failing millions of us. I'm waiting to hear from my son to start complaining about his gaming rig I built for him, that thing is a beast of a machine. I know him, the first time it locks up, he'll be calling me to fix it.
As far as I am concerned there is no fix, until Microsoft gets their act together. I wish I could send Microsoft an Invoice for my hours, because we spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on the product only to their OS cause our systems to go down. If you find an easy fix, please share it with me, because I am not only mad as ****, I am tired of having to wipe my HD every time they release an update.
Sorry for the long reply, but hopefully Microsoft will see this and fix their ................................. I'll leave that blank, but use your imagination. I have been using Microsoft since the old IBM 286 computer and it only appears things have gotten worse. Hence, I maybe reading and studying up on Linux if Microsoft continues with this.
