keep getting this message on windows update even after clicking retry several times,

    I am also having the same experience on my Acer Aspire A515-43.

    Windows 10-S setup on my 64-bit laptop..

    Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - November 2019 (KB890830) - Error 0x800711c7

    Also, Windows is recognizing a peripheral scanner (from Brother) as a storage and won't install the driver and can't locate on '+ new device'.

    I would download it from Brother website but Windows S won't allow it (also, there is no CD ROM drive on this laptop).

    Thanks to all who replied to above question. I have taken note of all answers and will pass them on to my son, who is much more expert on computers than I am, on his next visit. Hopefully one of them will work.
