and I don't understand why the fix includes a Microsoft fix that requires me/you to get out of "S" mode? I am not messing with "S" mode. I just think we should wait till they fix it on their end.

Having the same issue here on my Acer Spin 1 SP111-33. Unable to apply the update even after several retry attempts. I should state that the computer is currently running in S mode.

I agree . Major pain . Can't understand why they put update out and with the amount of problems why they can't issue a fix or just retract it and fix it first. Ridiculous that they can't communicate.

How about since the update created more problems than it fixed, you put out a hotfix that solves the problem that everyone is dealing with and is unable to solve, rather than sending them all to the same links that don't work for the obvious reason of S mode.

If you're not going to update now, put out a little memo or some such, telling the concerned consumers who have invested money in your products that you will be addressing the issue soon.
