In NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM have I EVER accessed a microsoft service ...

Um ... you're doing it now.

This isn't a service, this is a forum, ****.  And I'm accessing this website FORUM that I was lead to by google from chrome to find an answer, but some are apparently playing geniuses, but yet at the same time providing very unsafe critical information.  Read fool.

Hi, as you already know, the address being blocked by Bitdefender reads as follows:

    - Online Threat Prevention

MicrosoftEdge.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an unmatching security certificate to markets.books.microsoft.com. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since the used certificate was issued for a different web address than the targeted one.

I followed a trail, without opening links, to which I believe is the source. It seems that Quora.com is selling licenses of limited duration to parties enabling them to enter and take control of networks on other computers. Obviously they then have complete access to everything on the computer. I have had notifications from the person(s) who have entered my network on several occasions, passwords taken, programs messed up, etc. I got a floating screen containing all the nicknames I've ever had from infant to present. I know, it sounds crazy, nothing I can do about that. However, if the above noted message is attached to something Bitdefender has blocked then this is where the trail leads. I couldn't and wouldn't open Quora.com but a comment page was also listed in the search, that's how I was able to find out what they do. They are China and Taiwan based. On my way there, one part of the search mentioned was, MAC addresses (nothing to do with MAC computers). I checked the comments on that site and Quora was mentioned, so I followed up on that. This is where I ended up. I checked my network activity and it clearly shows the dates when my network was disabled and an unknown device hooked up. A few days later it was reversed. The off and on continues. In addition, the address of this stranger also has one identifier called MAC.

It's a long story but that is the information I was able to obtain. There isn't any critical or unsafe information contained here. There are no links, only names. It's a possibility that this is the cause of our problems. If so, there's little to nothing we can do about it. I don't know why I'm one of the "chosen" ones, I'm not even interesting.

Why does Microsoft not resolve  the problem?

Who knows.  They are ignorantly ignoring this at the moment.  They are invading our privacy, which is SO WRONG in so many ways.

If you follow the trail from there you'll eventually end iup at Quora.com. Based in China and Taiwan. They sell limited duration license allowing people to take over your network. Check your network activity and you'll probably see that your network gets disabled for a few days and another device takes over. It goes back and forth. The othes guy' URL has a "MAC" address. Nothing to do with MAC computers. Google MAC addresses. I couldn't understand it but it obviously has something to do with this mess

thanks for that info. I'm now playing /exploring the new Edge.  However, in my personal view, i'm working with the New Edge, Chrome, Safari etc.

HOw does this tech stuff help me in driving me to the edge of madness, in always new updates, changes, etc.

I can never keep up, never mind changing my car tires in seasonal time...
