No "Remove" button for Microsoft account in Windows 10 settings? SOLVED

Hi all,

I wanted to share this in case anyone else was having the same frustrating problem. I had a personal Microsoft account that I had mistakenly signed into on a work PC. To remove it, I followed the steps to go to Settings >> Email & Accounts, then select the account and click "Remove". Well, I got there, and there was no "Remove" button! Only a "Manage" button appeared.

The "Your info" page probably also looks like this

If you are having this problem, look for a text link on the "Your info" page that says something like "Stop signing in to all Microsoft apps automatically". Click on that text.

"Your info" should now say "Local Account" instead of your email

Go back to the "Email & accounts" page and you should now be able to remove the account

    I read through this entire thread and nothing looked the same as described.

    I have a work Surface that was set up with a Microsoft (MS) account.  I added a local account and gave it administrator priveleges while logged in with my MS account.  I then logged out of the MS account and logged into the local account.

    Then you can use the other instructions in this thread to remove your MS account.  Hope this helps someone as it took me awhile to figure this out.

    Step 1
    Goto Manage your accounts -- > Select Log into a local account instead.

    Step 2

    Create a local account (Fill in Username and password for local account)

    Step 3
    Select Microsoft account -- Remove option will be available

    Click on Access work or school

    Click on account you want to disconnect

    The above will appear under your account information, click Disconnect.
