No "Remove" button for Microsoft account in Windows 10 settings? SOLVED

Hi all,

I wanted to share this in case anyone else was having the same frustrating problem. I had a personal Microsoft account that I had mistakenly signed into on a work PC. To remove it, I followed the steps to go to Settings >> Email & Accounts, then select the account and click "Remove". Well, I got there, and there was no "Remove" button! Only a "Manage" button appeared.

The "Your info" page probably also looks like this

If you are having this problem, look for a text link on the "Your info" page that says something like "Stop signing in to all Microsoft apps automatically". Click on that text.

"Your info" should now say "Local Account" instead of your email

Go back to the "Email & accounts" page and you should now be able to remove the account

    I had the same problem. I solved it by "unlinking" the account from "Access work or school".

    I searched all over the web for this. Thank you man!

    I was so troubled, too when I added a work Microsoft account to my computer. It made me including all other users of the computer to change their 4 digit PIN to 6 digit PIN. Then the passwords had to be changed before accessing their personal user accounts. I therefore decided to remove the work account from this computer to a different personal laptop. There was no remove/ delete account button in the settings. I followed this discussion but then realized that my computer had different removal buttons. I believe this shall help somebody.

    I clicked on the ACCESS WORK & SCHOOL, MICROSOFT ACCOUNT (to be removed), and DISCONNECT. After a few minutes the work Microsoft account appeared again. I clicked DISCONNECT for 2nd time and the account vanished.

    THEN

    THEN CLICKED A 2ND TIME TO DISCONNECT.

    The account vanished.

    I restarted the computer.
