Can't connect to the Minecraft world of my friend on PS4

So basically, since it is now possible to crossplay with PS4 and all other Bedrock platforms, my friend on PS4 got really excited, and wanted to try it out with me (I am on Windows 10 Edition). So he did what he was suppost to, created a microsoft account, linked it, added me as a friend, I accepted. All that went really well.

After he created a world that had multiplayer on, I could see him in the "Friends" tab, 1/8 players on the server. I tried to click it and join. It was loading for a bit. It said "Connecting to Multiplayer" or something like that, and after a while, "Can't connect to world".

Any help?

    Here's what I did. To play with my playstation friend, I turned off cross platform and it worked for some odd reason. To play with my cross plat friends I needed them to add me and then invite me and it worked.

    I was having the same problem. A friend who had been in my world several times wasn't able to connect anymore after an update.i ended up fixing it by backing up my world (select options on minecraft in the PlayStation menu and select upload/download data), deleting the world on my PS4, then downloading the world again. She was able to join after that and neither of us lost any progress. Hope that helps others.

    Im having the same issue. Mines ps4 to ps4 though. I was excited to play it with my little cousin.

    I’m having the same issue. We have 4 people on PSN all trying to make worlds and join on each other and we’re all getting the same “unable to connect to world” error. Some of us have some added via cross-platform, some don’t. No combinations of us are able to join on eachother.
