Can't connect to the Minecraft world of my friend on PS4

So basically, since it is now possible to crossplay with PS4 and all other Bedrock platforms, my friend on PS4 got really excited, and wanted to try it out with me (I am on Windows 10 Edition). So he did what he was suppost to, created a microsoft account, linked it, added me as a friend, I accepted. All that went really well.

After he created a world that had multiplayer on, I could see him in the "Friends" tab, 1/8 players on the server. I tried to click it and join. It was loading for a bit. It said "Connecting to Multiplayer" or something like that, and after a while, "Can't connect to world".

Any help?

    Yes, this issue still persists. However, I am encountering the problem between PS4 and Xbox One. I am able to sign in with my Xbox account from the Minecraft PS4 menu, and I can see my friend's Xbox account in the list of players online, but I am still 'Unable to Join World'. It doesn't seem to matter if it's a new world or a saved world. It sux.

    Is anybody still having this problem where you cant join your freinds on ps4? And when you try it always says unable to connect to world?

    Me and my brother live pretty close to each other so we have the same internet provider. That seemed to cause some issues. We would get the same “Can't connect to world" error. To fix it I hosted a game on my pc and used a VPN and that fixed the problem.

    The only fix me and my friend had found is to load up the old version of minecraft and we can play together there

    I am on playstation 4 and my friend is on playstation 4 and every time i try to join his world or every time he trys to join my world it says "unable to connect to world" and we boath have playstation plus and a good internet connection so what do i do.  Please someone help
