Can't connect to the Minecraft world of my friend on PS4

So basically, since it is now possible to crossplay with PS4 and all other Bedrock platforms, my friend on PS4 got really excited, and wanted to try it out with me (I am on Windows 10 Edition). So he did what he was suppost to, created a microsoft account, linked it, added me as a friend, I accepted. All that went really well.

After he created a world that had multiplayer on, I could see him in the "Friends" tab, 1/8 players on the server. I tried to click it and join. It was loading for a bit. It said "Connecting to Multiplayer" or something like that, and after a while, "Can't connect to world".

Any help?

    Hey! Can you tell me that why cant i play with my friend? Everytime when ill try to join it says unable to connect to world. We played together before butt now we cant

    I can play the new one only with ppl on the same wifi as me. So I can play minecraft with my husband on his ps4, cross platform friends nope, other ps4's still no, old 4j minecraft works with others on ps4 only but none of the fun new stuff :( i have tried to delete it and redownload it but still nothing.  Type3  Internet connection could be to blame but, they need tp patch it because my speeds are good.

    What i’ve found to be useful is to unfriend your friend and re-friend them and then invite them as soon as they accept it , it doesn’t work every time but it works 3/4, it’s kind of annoying but until they fix it , that is all i got

    I had the same problem connecting my sons Nintendo Switch to my Windows 10 Laptop Minecraft World.

    The fix was to configure the network as private and enable network discovery.

    Im also having this problem and well since this update has been out ive not been able to join and their have been updates after that fixing other things and not the main problem. Ive tried searching up this issues and find people complaining about the same problem and well no one helping out not even a video or something telling us how to fix this. Honestly before this update I loved playing minecraft with friends and now its not even playable just want this game to be fix thats all I want and well others that play this game want it to get fixed also.
