Zune software in 2019

when googling I saw a suggestion to try syncing the zune with WMP but I haven't gotten around to trying that yet...I dont want to lose the ability to favorite things and idk if you could still do playlists that way.

What I really need is two Zune programs.  One would be to set up my new laptop to playback like a Zune device.  The other would allow me to load my 50 or 60 favorite albums currently on my Zune device onto the laptop.  I do not need to add to or delete from my Zune library. I do not need a video function, a radio function, or a marketplace function.  I think that the setup may be blocking because one of these unneeded functions is not compatible.  I know that on a previous laptop I could do what I want, but  cannot on my brand new Lanovo Ideapad Flex running Windows 10 Home.  Maybe I could store the album files using a program other than Zune and play them back through an unrelated program.   Anyone have any Ideas as to how to accomplish this?

I still have all the files for the program but no idea how to actually get it to install... like you said it hangs. but last time I installed everything I swear it was after Microsoft had stopped supporting it. I have no idea how I got it to work, pretty sure I originally set my computer up in 2015? 

I managed to find my external hard drive with the file itself and backups of my computer..but still it hangs

It was working on Windows 10 for me until this latest update.  When I get the energy I may try to put together a virtual machine running an older version of Windows just to run the Zune software.
