Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.

I have having the exact same issues. I cannot click to enter the search box and type anything. Closing it out "fixes it but the box is misaligned. Ctrl+F will enter the box but as someone else also described it will type the first letter and then replace it with every other letter you type following.

Microsoft has never been able to make a good "Explorer". She has not even added the "Print" feature yet, despite more than 30 years.
And now she (Nadella) decides to sabotage even more Explorer. After all he did it for Internet Explorer and smartphones and many other things, then.
Will come a time or Microsoft will replace Windows by Android or the Apple OS.

I have a similar problem and includes trying to add media to a family history programme.
Search is as described in previous posts but I then get the message "Family Historian has Stopped Working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
Only started since Nov update was installed and when searching. Not received any solution yet.
