Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.
Kind regards
Byron

Doing a google search for File Explorer search not working in Windows 10 1909 now brings up quite a few sites reporting this issue, how could you break such a basic feature of Windows is insane.
Really hope this gets patched quickly as it seems to be affecting a significant number of users.
i hope that back to old search
Exact same problem here. I did the task manager restart Windows explorer thing a couple of days ago and the problem has not yet returned. But I'm knocking wood since I see here that it has returned for others. Not sure why a restart would be a permanent fix.
Just thought I would add another 'Same here' since the 1909 update, as anything I have posted on 'Windows Feedback' has never gone anywhere 😴
My systems include a couple of old Intel based laptops and 2x HEDT with AMD 2950 and 3960, all fully up-to-date (OS and drivers), but all with the exact same issue😿
