Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.

I just can't believe how many days have passed since MS released the November update which screwed so many PCs worldwide and they have done absolutely nothing to fix it. I've lost so much time and money that I decided to migrate to Linux.
Currently I'm using Linux Mint as my main system and its performance is just amazing I encourage you to do the same if that's something you can afford to do. I believe that's the only way to escape from the always buggy updates released by MS.
Really getting fed up with these constant buggy Windows 10 updates. What's the damn point in running beta testing if you're going to release it in a poor state.
MS really needs put way more focus in making sure these updates are in a much better state before rolling them out to tens of millions.

People, I'm as unhappy with this as the rest of you, but an update of this magnitude can't be fixed overnight. It's been only about 2 weeks. It needs to be fixed, but also tested against an wide variety of environments (or do you want it to screw something else up along with fixing File Explorer?)
You don't need to go to an entirely different operating system. As mentioned earlier, you can simply roll back 1909. It wasn't so major that you lose any must have features. Here's an article on how to do the roll-back:

EDIT: yes, it's still a major screw-up in the first place.

I appreciate there is a problem with some updates to 1909 but they won't get addressed by commenting here,
You need to post the problems in the Feedback Hub for the developers to be aware of. Unfortunately with all the testers working within Microsoft and the Insider program it seems some still get out and affect some users. It looks to me like Microsoft have tried to change the way search in File Explorer works and it has had some detrimental effects.
Again post to the Feedback Hub and give details not just complain.
