File Explorer search not working in Windows 10 1909

Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".

Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.

Kind regards

Byron

"We fixed an issue where you could get into a state where it wasn’t possible to set focus to File Explorer’s search box in order to type your query."

    They fix only one issue.

    They need fix the

    -Missing tabs !

    -allow right click

-missing result with special key like "video","*.psd",".*js"....!

    Before all working good.

As I wrote earlier the problem is already fixed in Windows 10 Build 19013 (20H1):

    https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2019/10/29/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-19013/

You can download it as a member of Insider program.

All other common users will get this build during the spring 2020.

Temporary solution which works for me:

    • close all "file explorer" windows
    • kill the process "SearchUI.exe" in Task Manager (tab Details)
    • start a new file explorer window

Why the Branch of Microsoft Window dont use is own tool ? they buy Github and they not using it for Window  ??

It the most powerfull tool for track issue and share information.

Some groups within MS use it internally for incident tracking, etc., but they need something much more basic than that when dealing with Windows client users.

The problem with the Feedback Hub for me is that beyond the Home page the tool is unresponsive. Maybe it is overwhelmed by complaints?

I wonder if Microsoft really means it when they say they want us to help them make Windows better?

    Didn't work for me

Nor did the nearly 100 other remedies found.

Its simply broken in 1909 and Microsoft needs to fix it!!
