Same problem here - SEARCH BOX FREEZES! This is very frustrating as I use this all the time.
File Explorer search not working in Windows 10 1909
Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.
Kind regards
Byron

2020-01-18T08:16:23+00:00 Just another "Me too". Task-Manager --> Restart "Windows Explorer" --> Search working again. But I know it won't last for long ... most likely will have to do this 2-4 times a day. Plus I now have to hit "Enter" to get the search results. I don't get the results while typing in the search bar.

2020-01-18T00:52:06+00:00 This problem persists with absolutely no response from Microsoft in three months. I was hoping their "Feature Update" and 2 "Cumulative Updates" of today (Jan. 17) might have addressed the problem, but no, of course not...
