File Explorer search not working in Windows 10 1909

Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".

Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.

Kind regards

Byron

I saw that and restarted, Start > Power > Restart and was back. Installed it and no problems so far. Search works better now than before, before it wouldn't search from This PC and now it does.

I have to say it has never really caused me a problem.

Further to yesterday's post. On 1st boot yesterday, 2 updates available, KB4537572 (net.framework) & KB4535996, latter as 'OPTIONAL'. Installed KB4537572 OK & left KB4535996 uninstalled. This morning, on boot, Auto WUD ran as normal, KB4535996 has disappeared as an option - does this mean its been pulled within 24 hours - previous last 2 comments perhaps bear this out why. Can't Microsoft get anything to work properly?

KB 4535996 just issued as an OPTION, numerous fixes, one relating to Search Box again (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4535996/windows-10-update-kb4535996). Another patch for a patch for a patch. Think I will leave this for a while.

    This patch doesn't work either!

Just take a look: if there's external display connected with pixel density different from main one, you'll keep seeing the white space bug...
