Thanks, I've figured it out now ;)
However, I confirm that the problem persists even with the latest 1909 December cumulative update.

Ever since I updated to Windows 10 1909 the Search Box in the File Explorer is completely unuseable. It shows a text cursor but I cannot click inside the box or type any text into it. Essentially it's a text box with no "wiring".
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? I'm having to resort to using a third-party search app just to find files in my projects.
Kind regards
Byron

Nobody ever said that a rollback was a "solution". Quit expecting people to fix your issues in a moments notice, especially independent MVP adviser.

an almost Useless suggestion used my MCP's; "rollback" is a standard reply when someone can not bring forth the solution or an answer to a question. Be honest, and 'say' I don't know !; then go and find an answer.
I can't agree. Though the could also say "I don't know why this is happening", a roll-back is a valid next-step. It returns a user back to working state.
Since there is this work-around, this problem isn't a critical, work-stoppage issue. Operating systems updates and releases are a complicated thing involving many partners. The schedules are planned well in advance. Going off of a hard timeline would require something much more catastrophic than this.

Thanks for "telling it like it is", Ptmxtwo. Maybe 1 of these days some of these guys will actually do some research and provide a concrete answer that works, rather than the same old "standard reply". Often a so-called "roll-back" either fails to solve the problem or causes additional ones. It's a cop-out, not a solution, by any means...

It's not going to go away in 1909 if your system is affected. Personally I've not seen a problem other than not being able to right click and paste but that doesn't bother me as Ctrl+p still works if I ever needed that.
