Screensaver is not working after Windows update to 1903.

I have tried setting DISPLAY, SCREEN and all the other settings to enable the screensaver to come on at the set time but nothing happens? I have to close the lid when I leave my laptop alone for awhile

    Being curious, I have tested behaviour of Win 10 built 1909 (18363.778).

    Same result. Screen timeout and energy options are not properly working as soon as MS joystick is connected.

    Actually not a real surprise, as both versions (1903 & 1909) share the same code and just vary in a few options.

    However this result differs from earlier statements that built 1909 would not be effected.

    Hello,

    perhaps using this lokal Link might be a little workaround for now.

    I put it on my desktop, and when I leave for a while, I activate it.

    C:\Windows\System32\Mystify.scr

    I will give this thing with the USB Flightstick a try, but I think, I had this problem before.

    I recently did a clean install on my laptop.  No problems.  Some screen savers did work but they were from prior installations.  Now, as of last week, none work.  Why do we have to scramble around each time there is an update?  I bypass the logon screen and always have, no go.  Why isn't Microsoft sending a patch?  They want our business but maybe the individual consumer doesn't count as much as a business consumer.  I don't like deleting updates but this is a pain in the a**!  I am going to try something with windows defender.  We'll see.

    I have not had the screensaver working problems for a couple of years with Windows 10. Just occasionally it would work for a day or so after an upgrade and then stop.

    I unplugged all the USB devices - Logitech camera, MS joystick and CH Pro pedals (for flight sim). This did not work, however I was running nVidia GeForce Experience and selected IN-GAME OVERLAY OFF and the screensaver and power saving started working again reliably.

    Since then I have had to start using Edge rather than IE 11 as MS Teams required it. When Edge is running it prevents the screensaver working. A full reboot will reset the system and it works again. This problem does not occur with IE 11. It seem Edge is preventing screensaver or power saving working.

    Thanks, I tried many other solutions and this one worked. It was my usb game controller attached to a hub that was causing the hangup.

    I have Chrome.  After I did the clean install, the screen saves worked.  After the latest up dates they stopped.  I don't have anything plugged in but it worked just fine with anything I plugged in such as external drives of various uses.  I am ticked off that their antivirus updates, even with full approval, takes out all the drivers and they won't  work even if reinstalled again.  Microsoft doesn't  care.
