Screensaver is not working after Windows update to 1903.

I have tried setting DISPLAY, SCREEN and all the other settings to enable the screensaver to come on at the set time but nothing happens? I have to close the lid when I leave my laptop alone for awhile

    Actually, my problem didn't start with the 1903 update, but with the October 8, 2019—KB4517389 (OS Build 18362.418)—update to 1903, which my system installed on 11 October.  It is otherwise as described—nothing fixes it.  I’m forced to turn off my display at night.  I forgot to specify, but I've got an Nvidia graphics card, for which I reinstalled the latest update—no joy.

    I filed a bug with Microsoft, but my bet is that nothing will happen until some future update will mysteriously fix the problem, and no explanation or apology will be forthcoming.

    I observe the same behaviour as CultofGodfrey.  After updating to 1903, if the "On resume, display log-on screen" setting is checked, then the screen saver works as expected, but if I uncheck the box, the screensaver never engages at all.

    But it is irritating to have to enter my password every time the screen saver is dismissed.

    FYI Look into this one if you have not already, I have seen the same problem on a number of different machines. Multiple makes and models, desktop and laptop. I ran out of time to do a proper investigation but on at least 20 machines I took a quick look at, all settings are correct. I'll post more after I have a chance to look more in-depth unless someone else posts a fix.

    I got it working after several reboots (not just one or two, it took several) and checking/unchecking the on-resume button.  Eventually it just began to work properly without reference to the on-resume button.

    This is a HUGE problem, IMO. I am only 3 days in to my new computer and the screensaver has not yet worked. The whole first night the computer was on, it was ON the entire night. And the responses I'm getting from chat help (and remotely using my computer to check settings - which are correct and all updates are current) and phone help are not resolving the issue.

    PLEASE fix this. I am seriously thinking of returning my computer. Something is very wrong.
