Screensaver is not working after Windows update to 1903.

I have tried setting DISPLAY, SCREEN and all the other settings to enable the screensaver to come on at the set time but nothing happens? I have to close the lid when I leave my laptop alone for awhile

    This does not work in all cases, because some games use Joystick ID's to bind controls in game.  This effected me specifically in several games.  When you unplug constantly in this way, your Joystick ID can change which then effects your games.

    Microsoft Flight Simulator uses Controller names to bind functionality and as such is not effected by you unplugging your controller.

    While yes it is a possible fix, it is just a bandaid that will cause problems later.

    Was the same for me 

    "I was running nVidia GeForce Experience and selected IN-GAME OVERLAY OFF and the screensaver and power saving started working again reliably."

    turned that off and it works.

    Using update 2004. No screen saver no matter what I do. After reading this forum, unplugged my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and 2 minutes later my screen saver was working. Kind of annoying to have to unplug it, but I will live with plugging/unplugging it. Didn't need to reboot. Played FS2020 and when I was done, unplugged my joystick and waited 2 minutes and the sceensaver popped up. Works for me. Good input on this forum(not from MS but from users).

    I have identified which windows updates are adversely affecting Windows 10 Screensavers.

    Please check and remove these windows updates:  This issue is present between 1809 - 1903 and not just Windows Home/Pro, but also Enterprise LTSC 2019.

    I am unsure if any version of windows post 1903 is working, and even if it is working, you cannot upgrade Windows 10 versions on Enterprise LTSC until a new image is created.

    Note:  Enterprise users:  To fix this issue, go to services.msc and disable windows update service then uninstall these updates.  Also go to gpedit.msc and disable automatic windows updates.

    Also Note:  I have reason to believe it is the security update in the screenshot that is affecting the screensaver settings specifically.

    To Microsoft:  IF I am correct can I have a job, since I won't give people canned answers like your overpaid under educated software engineers who read from a script and only know how to use CTRL + C and CTRL + V?  I was laid off thanks to C19, and I do stuff like this in my spare time out of boredom.

    I am on a HP All in One PC.  It has the Windows 10 1903 also.  I am having trouble

    getting the Screensaver to work. I want to have it working. 

    I tried the above and tried to update the display adapter driver. It told me it is up

    to date.  Microsoft needs to fix this in the 1903 update they sent out.
