Unable to change drive where new apps will save to.

I recently reset my windows 10 pc, forgot to delete or uninstall old apps from my hdd, now when i try to change where new apps wil save i get the following message "Delete other apps?: This drive has apps from another device. To use this drive, the other apps must first be deletted. Do you want to continue?" After select yes i get the error message: We couldn't save your default save location: The operation did not complete succesfully. Try again in a bit. The error code is 0x8007003". I can't delete the folder by myself. Any idea how could i fix this.

so to anyone this might help if you had an issue with not wanting to install games on your main drive and you have a separate hdd that already has files on it that you do not  want to format it i tried so many things and possibly the easiest solution that i did i didn't  think this would work.

if your windows app folder is sitting on the main page of your hdd  just create a new folder call it whatever you want or it may be related to the fact this may have been where the windows store made a folder for my games it installed as well it was just called games

im pretty sure i made it but cant remember  but besides the point  literally just move the windows apps folder inside that folder then go to your setting to where you change where apps are installed and choose the new drive and hit yes when asked to delete and it worked!

    That was a typo meant folder just basically create a new folder on your main page of your secondary Hdd or ssd whatever and store the windows apps folder inside the folder you just created and when you go to the setting to change your drive and when it ask you to delete it should work as it did for me and let me change where my games are installed hope that helps. 

    This solutions worked perfectly for me, I created a new folder on the drive called WindowsApp_OLD, placed the WindowsApp folder inside it, and then used the setttings menu to set that drive as where new apps will save to. This time it managed to succeed. Thank You.

    I am having a similar issue where I had to re-install Windows 10 which wiped my C drive clean and started fresh. Before this I had all new apps downloaded to my D drive and was able to set the new app save location to the D drive with no issues. After re-installing windows 10 I now get an error message saying "We couldn't set your default location. The operation did not complete successfully. Try again in a bit. The error code is 0x80070005, in case you need it." whenever I try and set my D drive as the new location for apps to be saved. I have managed to change where the documents, music and movies are saved to but not apps. I have tried with changing permissions, I have changed the name of the WindowsApp folder in my d drive, I have even deleted the folder. Each time I try, it creates a new WindowsApp folder, but also a user folder with a Documents, Music, Video and Picture folder. Any help would be great as I cannot download any xbox games at the moment. Windows Store apps seem to be working but only to C drive, not D drive.

    I did a reset of Windows 10 because I was having a lot of issues, the reset fixed all the issues but now my Xbox Game Pass PC (Beta) games that were on another hard drive than my C drive cannot be uninstalled, I get this msg. Is there a work around?
