I upgraded to windows 10 version 1903 a few weeks ago. Shortly afterwards I noticed that my fans were running extremely fast and my CPU temps per core were running in the mid 50s C at system idle. Previously they were running in the mid to high 30s C. Task Manager shows my CPU usage at 100%. I get things back to normal if I disable the Power service, but as soon as I enable it again, my fans begin to race and the temps go up. My system uses an ASRock motherboard with an Intel i7-8700k and an 8500 watt power supply. I use the Balanced power setting profile. Diagnostics for Power doesn't pick up anything and I can't find anything with Google for anyone with a similar problem. I had a similar issue a couple of years back, but it was caused by me using the High Performance power profile. Once I changed to the Balanced profile the problem disappeared. This time, the problem is occurring with the Balanced power setting. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

2019-08-10T18:39:12+00:00 Maybe as the update continues to roll out, more people will start making noise about it. My computer updated yesterday (August 9), and ever since the fan has been running. I don't know how to check the temperature, but my task manager showed about 50% CPU usage, mostly coming from icloud services, so I disabled that - no effect on the fan, but it did take CPU usage down to 17%. My power plan was already balanced, so didn't try changing it. Anyway - sorry, no answers, just the same problem....

However, my search for finding a way other than rollback, lead me to corrupt my system files and resetting my PC. However after the reset, I'm still on 1903 and lost the ability to rollback, so I'm forced to install the previous version again. I hope Microsoft fixes this.

The only thing we can do is sending reports to microsoft over and over again. At some point they will have to adress the problem. I am sending another report today, hoping to receive a reply by microsoft. In the meanwhile we could all do the same...

2019-08-12T12:34:38+00:00 TheSETJ, you can disable the Power Service and the fans will slow down to normal speeds. This should be an acceptable work-around until Microsoft fixes the issue.
