I don't get it. Why does it work for some but not others. The rest of us must have something on our pc that "irritates" windows. I just don't see what it could be... Could an older program that hasn't had an update in years do something like this?
Host Process For Windows Taskhostw.exe Stopped Working: Event ID 1000
I noticed upon checking my Event Log Applications and my Reliability Monitor I have been getting this critical error about every 2 to 3 days now on my HP Omen i7 -16 GB Mem - Nvidia GEForce GTX 1070 on Win10 Home 64 bit and this did not start happening until I updated to v1903 on May 30^th^ . My build is 18362.239. Could someone please advise me as how to resolve this or MS deploy a fix for this. It appears I am not the only one getting these. I have reported this through the Feedback Hub. I have run all three DISMs, SFC, Malwarebytes, Norton and I turned on Windows Defender long enough for a quick scan and no problems seen. It appears this is a scheduled task that keeps failing instead of running to completion.

2019-07-17T15:28:41+00:00 I don't get it. Why does it work for some but not others. The rest of us must have something on our pc that "irritates" windows. I just don't see what it could be... Could an older program that hasn't had an update in years do something like this?
I'm still working through a few possibilities but I will probably only stumble on it by accident - and probably not know what it was when I manage to fix it. Problem is that every possible 'fix' takes four or five days to test.
At least it doesn't appear to be doing anything bad to the system. It's just annoying.
It'd be nice if Microsoft would address the issue - I am persuaded that it has something to do with the 'safe' Apps in their Store.

Hello Daknut,
Sorry I have not responded sooner but my two grandchildren are here for several weeks so that takes a lot of my time. Anyways getting to the problem and this may be a shot in the dark but I wanted to go over something with you and Camilla. I remember when I ran SFC the first time on July 12th and saw all the integrity violations related to Win Def in the CBS.log I wondered why because I do not even use Win Def as Norton has it turned off. The only time and the only reason I turn it on is once a month to keep the definitions updated. I turned it on and I clicked on Scan For Updates and I got this one below.
I then proceeded to finish checking my files by running all three DISMs and SFC again. I do not know if Win Def was causing the Taskhostw.exe errors and this update could be the fix but I wanted to let you and Camilla know. You may want to check your updates in Settings and see if you have this particular one for the definition. If not I would manually scan for updates by clicking on Scan for updates in the Win Def in settings. I scanned again this morning and got a new update as well. I feel it is worth a try. BTW since your wife has had no errors it would be interesting to compare yours and hers definition updates in Settings.
Regards,
Don.

Hi Camilla,
Please read my response to Daknut above. It does not hurt to check and try.

2019-07-17T17:07:56+00:00 Hi Don, I don't have that specific definition, but I check for updates manually on a daily basis. The latest definition I have is KB2268602 definition 1.297.1248 from 18.45 today. And I'm still getting that annoying error. If Defender is the issue then it is not because it isn't up to date.
