2019-07-13T02:10:34+00:00 what if my chkdsk doesn't work? every time I run it, it gets stuck on 10% and I am forced to hard restart my pc. I have used SFC and DISM a couple times now honestly. any suggestions?

2019-07-12T04:45:32+00:00 Geez I thought this was caused by the overclock I did cause I got the same error after doing an sfc scan. I did the DISM still gotta check to see if that solved the problem so I'll reply back probably with the same answer being maybe a yes or even a no lol.

2019-07-11T18:05:24+00:00 I read a current article online about sfc /scannow failing. I tried on my PC, which is running the 19H2 build 18362.10000 and it did fail. I then ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, which said it completed successfully.
When I immediately reran sfc /scannow, it failed again. However, when I checked the CBS.log it claimed that every error found had been fixed. I waited a few minutes and then reran sfc /scannow (without doing anything else to repair first). This time sfc /scannow completed and found no errors.
In my past experience, I have found that sfc /scannow might not run error free, especially if the PC has been recently started. Once the computer has finished its scheduled maintenance (there are some tasks that run after login in Task Scheduler) and is inactive, sfc /scannow might then complete without error, even without trying any other repairs.
Also, in the past, there have been some Insider builds where the DISM ... /RestoreHealth would not run error-free unless it was run while Windows was offline. You could boot with Windows install media, get a Command Prompt and then run the DISM command successfully, (using DISM /Image:C:\ instead of DISM /Online).
