Windows 10 Stuttering with new update

"My solution was to disable an old WLAN adapter that I don't use anyway."

I see your image, I looked in Control Panel, Network settings and I do not see the same image you do. I DO see this on my laptop, but not on my desktop.

I have tried several things to stop the stutter. Goes away for a day or so, but then always comes back.

I appreciate the efforts you have taken in troubleshooting this issue.

We also suggest following the steps below and check if it makes any difference.

Method 1: Run netsh winsock reset command

1. Press Windows Key + X and choose Command Prompt from the menu.
2. When Command Prompt starts, enter the following and press Enter to run it:
   netsh winsock reset
3. Close Command Prompt and restart your computer.

Method 2: Remove problematic software

If you have any unnecessary programs installed on your computer, we advise that you remove them by following these steps:

Method 3:  Disconnect all USB devices

USB devices such as external hard drive, printers, etc. can sometimes cause Windows 10 to freeze randomly. If you have any USB devices connected to your computer, you should disconnect them before you turn on your computer.

Method 4: Download latest chipset drivers

To update your chipset drivers, you need to visit your motherboard manufacturer's website and download latest chipset drivers for your motherboard.

Method 5: Update network drivers
 

1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2. Expand Network adapters, and locate the network adapter for your device.
3. Select the network adapter, select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software, and then follow the instructions.
4. After installing the updated driver, select the Start button > Power  > Restart if you're asked to restart, and see if that fixes the issue.

Method 6: Update your BIOS

To perform a BIOS update, you have to visit and contact your motherboard manufacturer's website and download the latest version of BIOS.

I face the same issue on my desktop since Windows 10 20H2 update. Stuttering twice per second : mouse move is blocked for an instant, video and sound stutter constantly. Computer not usable anymore except for basic funciions.  

I tried many things , including methods 1 to 5 above from Suman _B. 

NB except method 4 : I did not execute method 4 because very difficult to find drivers to download for some of the components of my computer : either not accessible to end customers, or only existing on private websites which I did not trust enough (especially when they warn it will give false positive with Malewarebytes antivirus). 

Eventually I got rid of the stutter temporarily after a SAFE BOOT restart (msconfig / start)  followed immediately by a NORMAL RESTART . I do not dare to retart normally again, so I use the "sleep" (mise en veille in French) mode at night to keep it workable. 

PLEASE MICROSOFT do your upmost to deliver fix !

I gave my parents my custom PC of 8 years to them. Starting having the shuttering issues mid/late last year. Over the Christmas holidays, I completed a fresh Windows install. Once I did that, the system ran great (as newly installed systems do). Came back and visited the family for Easter and my dad told me that the PC shutters and that nothing had changed (as if the work I did was for nothing.) Puzzling, I once again found the PC was shuttering. I found this thread and read through the pages of comments. This lead me to researching windows updates and uninstalling the first windows update after I completed the fresh install. 

For the other users out there, to check the update history and uninstall windows updates in CMD:

I uninstalled KB4562830.

After uninstalling KB4562830 followed by a reboot, system runs smoothly once again without shutter. I prior to rolling back an update, I did try disabling Notification Center, updating video and audio drivers. None of those had an affect. 100% a windows issue. Now I'll have to figure out how to disable windows update or particularly prevent this update from installing.

Solution: Update your mainboard bios versión to the last versión.

New graphics cards might not work properly with your current bios version. Updating it will make it working. 🚀
