Bluetooth Headset cannot be used as both headphones and speakers

I have a bluetooth headset that does not allow me to use it as both a microphone and a headset.

I have determined that audio will play through the Bluetooth headset as long as the recording device is set to Conexant ISST Audio.  If I set the recording device to BHS-530 Hands-Free then no sound will play through either BHS-530 Playback device.

I can get audio to play while the BHS-530 Handsfree is setup as the Recording device but not while it is actively listening.  As an example my BHS-530 Stereo is selected for both my default audio and default communication device.  I start playing a YouTube video and audio works with the Playback menu is up in the Sound dialog (first screenshot), as soon as I select the recording menu (second screenshot) the audio stops.  If I switch the recording device back to Conexant ISST Audio the youtube video will continue to send sound regardless of which menu I am on.

What do I need to set so that I can use the headset for both audio and microphone (Microsoft Teams Calls)

The headset comes up as two separate devices once it connects to windows:

Playback Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

and

Type: Headphones

Name: BHS-530 Stereo

Recording Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

Type: Internal Microphone

Name: Conexant ISST Audio

(this is my laptop's internal mic)

    AT least, It's not working for my Motorola Escape Plus Headset. 

    I can have Audio or Mic but not Both.

    I fixed this by first turning off the "Allow Applications to take exclusive control of this device" as detailed in other posts but then by also going to Manage Sound Devices and seeing that my bluetooth headset was listed twice under Output devices: once with its normal name and another option with "Hands Free" in the name. The Hands Free option was disabled. I re-enabled it, went back to Teams and chose "Hands Free" for my output and the bluetooth mic as the input. It worked.

    The only negative is stereo playback doesn't work when I do this

    Just gonna add another reply, let's keep it going shall we, Maybe if we get to a couple thousand or more they will actually stop trying to act like this whole thread doesn't exist. Or maybe we'll cause so much of a stir they'll delete the thread and cover their tracks, i'm excited to see!

    Well let's hope so.
    I've been looking for a solution for months now. And apparently people have been asking since at least 2019. This is ridiculous.

    I need to either thave crappy sound in video games, to have my microphone working, or have decent sounds but without the mic. I have to keep changing devices. Sometimes I forget and I have to hang up on my boss because I forgot to change the device before she called me.

    This is ridiculous.
