Bluetooth Headset cannot be used as both headphones and speakers

I have a bluetooth headset that does not allow me to use it as both a microphone and a headset.

I have determined that audio will play through the Bluetooth headset as long as the recording device is set to Conexant ISST Audio.  If I set the recording device to BHS-530 Hands-Free then no sound will play through either BHS-530 Playback device.

I can get audio to play while the BHS-530 Handsfree is setup as the Recording device but not while it is actively listening.  As an example my BHS-530 Stereo is selected for both my default audio and default communication device.  I start playing a YouTube video and audio works with the Playback menu is up in the Sound dialog (first screenshot), as soon as I select the recording menu (second screenshot) the audio stops.  If I switch the recording device back to Conexant ISST Audio the youtube video will continue to send sound regardless of which menu I am on.

What do I need to set so that I can use the headset for both audio and microphone (Microsoft Teams Calls)

The headset comes up as two separate devices once it connects to windows:

Playback Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

and

Type: Headphones

Name: BHS-530 Stereo

Recording Device

Type: Headset

Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free

Type: Internal Microphone

Name: Conexant ISST Audio

    The playback issues you describe are a core problem with the way Windows handles Bluetooth. You can't listen to high-quality audio via Bluetooth and use the Bluetooth device's microphone at the same time. 

    The way Windows handles Bluetooth headsets is by treating the "headphone" function and the "headset" function as two different devices. This is why it shows up as two separate devices on the Playback tab but only one device on the Recording tab. 

    You can either use your Bluetooth device as "headphones" with good audio quality. Or use the device as a headset and suffer terrible audio playback. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't let you have both.

    Until Microsoft improves the Bluetooth function of windows, Bluetooth headsets will continue to be terrible on PCs.

    No, you're missing it. I would actually be okay using the low quality audio. That won't even work with the mic enabled. I can only use even the low quality headset setting if the mic is disabled. The fix that I posted earlier only worked for about a day, unfortunately.

    My mobile can actually do what my pc with windows 10 can't gg microsoft. My headset is perfect with linux and android but i can't use with windows....

    Hola chicos,

    He tenido estos problemas durante AGES, pero lo que puedo decir es que el culpable es que Windows reconoce los auriculares BT como un dispositivo "manos libres". Por lo tanto, cada vez que se comunica a través del dispositivo BT, silencia todos los demás sonidos.

    Para mi computadora portátil, la solución consistió en desactivar el micrófono "manos libres" asociado con mi auricular BT y grabar el sonido a través del micrófono de mi computadora portátil. Un trabajo extraño, pero funcionó ... un poco. Sin embargo, ahora que estoy en casa y trato de usar estos auriculares en mi escritorio que no tiene un micrófono incorporado, he vuelto al punto de partida.

    Mi proceso de pensamiento es que si podemos deshacernos del componente "manos libres" en el área del dispositivo de grabación, podríamos estar en el buen camino. Sin embargo, no puedo averiguar cómo hacer eso. ¡Cualquier idea sobre cómo hacer eso sería genial!

    En los servicios de Windows, desactiva Servicio de manos libres o algo por el estilo, o en las propiedades del dispositivo también puedes desactivar ese servicio, pero no te funcionará el microfono.

    This issue still exists. I've tried two listed fixes on this thread, but nothing seems to work.

    The solutions I've tried - 

    1 - Disable the Allow Apps to exclusively control this device option.

    2 - Disable Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator

    I wonder how a mobile phone can connect to the device just fine, but Windows in 2020 still lacks at something this basic.
