Bluetooth Headset cannot be used as both headphones and speakers

Same here, multiple devices tested

The only thing that worked on calls is setting the speaker to "Headphones" and the Mic to the laptop's one

Any other settings sometime works but mostly doesn't

so basically, I had the same problem, where I could see the stereo option of my bluetooth device, but not the other audio option. I, instead of uninstalling the missing audio's driver, uninstalled the only other option that worked, which is the stereo option of the bluetooth device, then I went in bluetooth settings and, by hovering over the Bluetooth device, I selected "forget device". After that, I restarted my device, turned my bluetooth headset on, as well as the computer's bluetooth, and paired the headset to the computer. I fixed it. And this all happened like 20-30 mins ago. I'd advise you to try my method, but you never know what the outcome might be.

Did you try to play a music during a call on your Android device ? I tried on my iPad Pro to play a music (Spotify) during a FaceTime call and the quality was as bad as on my PC...

I think the problem comes from the Bluetooth limitation, some people (on this topic), solved the problem by using a bluetooth USB dongle. I'll buy one for my Razer Opus (don't know which one to choose yet), I hope this will solve the problem for me...

I'm having the same issue with a Logitech H800 headset (and lost the dongle unfortunately, so must use via Bluetooth).

Audio quality is fine while I'm not in any call, and Windows chooses the audio device "Headphones (H800 Logitech Headset Stereo)". When I enter any call it switches to "Headset (H800 Logitech Headset Hands-Free)" with terrible input/output audio quality.

When looking into the "Default format" per profile I see the following (which can't be change):

Headphones (H800 Logitech Headset Stereo): 2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)

Headset (H800 Logitech Headset Hands-Free): 1 channel, 16 bit, 8000 Hz (Telephone Quality)

I've tried several options from both this topic and suggestions from other sources. I can fix the audio quality during calls by disabling "handsfree mode", which results in the microphone not working. I have also seen some posts about this being a Bluetooth hardware/design limitation, but like said multiple times in this topic: Via Android Bluetooth the audio input/output quality is fine! This has been tested with two different laptops.

Please Microsoft, let us use our Bluetooth headsets in better quality than "Telepone Quality" as above. Or explain why this can't work within Windows.

I have the exact same problem with my Razer Opus headset, thank you Windows ! Can't use the microphone AND listen to the sound, that's a joke !

Thank you. I do have it working completely wire free with the H19 IPO headset, the 'upgraded' 059 headset is not really an upgrade as it is at least 3yrs old since 1st manufacture.   

The only issue i now have with H19 IPO is that the battery icon always shows 100% in Windows.   But I have come to accept that M$ don't give a rats **** and it will never get fixed. sigh.  No wonder they are losing market share to Apple and Android/Linux!
