I have a bluetooth headset that does not allow me to use it as both a microphone and a headset.
I have determined that audio will play through the Bluetooth headset as long as the recording device is set to Conexant ISST Audio. If I set the recording device to BHS-530 Hands-Free then no sound will play through either BHS-530 Playback device.
I can get audio to play while the BHS-530 Handsfree is setup as the Recording device but not while it is actively listening. As an example my BHS-530 Stereo is selected for both my default audio and default communication device. I start playing a YouTube video and audio works with the Playback menu is up in the Sound dialog (first screenshot), as soon as I select the recording menu (second screenshot) the audio stops. If I switch the recording device back to Conexant ISST Audio the youtube video will continue to send sound regardless of which menu I am on.
What do I need to set so that I can use the headset for both audio and microphone (Microsoft Teams Calls)
The headset comes up as two separate devices once it connects to windows:
Playback Device
Type: Headset
Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free
and
Type: Headphones
Name: BHS-530 Stereo
Recording Device
Type: Headset
Name: BHS-530 Hands-Free
Type: Internal Microphone
Name: Conexant ISST Audio
(this is my laptop's internal mic)

In my case worked by:
1 Upair
2 Disabled Bluetooth LE Enumerator
3 Paried again
4 Setting all input/output audio devices exclusive mode: Off
and that's it!!!!

2021-01-19T21:41:24+00:00 I'll go ahead and add another reply on here, maybe if there is enough, microsoft will sometime eventually look into it. This question was opened an entire year and a half ago, and yet this is still an ongoing problem. Talk about agitate me, microsoft is huge, and they can't assign anyone to get this fixed. Wow. I know this is small and trivial compared to a multitude of other things, but it's still a problem. Maybe stop acting like this problem doesn't exist and fix it. Like others have said, in comparison, mobile devices do just fine with these bluetooth headsets, why can't my much more powerful computer do it, oh that's right, microsoft and their windows software has evidently decided it's a "NO" kind of feature. Nice.
I never blow up but it seems like i can here without anyone really noticing because again, this obviously is ignored. And if someone does notice, great, maybe you can fix it.

The Jack event isn't working.
I mean...
If I plug a wired headset + mic, w10 recognize the headphone but not the mic...
and yes.. the computer jack is only one and is for a headset + mic...
the thing works fine in W10 at 2019 then a update erased the Realtek sound manager and stop working.
So W10 v1809 can't connect a headset + mic using Bluetooth, and can't connect a Wired Headset+mic in a single jack...
