KB4516065 Installation Fails with Error 80092004

This is the only patch that is getting an error at installation. I've tried update troubleshooter, standalone install and clearing Software Distribution folder without success. Are others having this issue?

Had the same problem. What fixed it was to download these two KBnnnnnn patches from the Windows Update Catalog.

KB4490628  (make sure this one gets installed successfully first)

KB4516065

    Thanks lintekPC. 

    After 2 days trying allsorts to install KB4516065. this solved the problem.

    I used Internet Explorer to download the files even though Chrome is my default browser. I read somewhere that this makes a difference.

    Had to re-install Windows 7 Pro 64bit after a catastrophic SSD failure and two updates kept failing including KB4516065.

    I downloaded KB4490628 from the MS catalogue and installed it.  This triggered three Windows updates which then all went through OK.

    For Windows 2008 R2:

    KB4490628 and KB4474419 must be installed prior to KB4516065, and IIS should be stopped during the install.  These two KBs are specified by Microsoft in the KB4516065 release notes ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4516065/windows-7-update-kb4516065 ).

    Download the https://catalog.update.microsoft.com website using Internet Explorer as the browser.

    Search for KB4490628 and KB4474419.

    Download the two KBs to a local drive.

    Install the two downloaded KBs with an admin account.

    Then install KB4516065.

    A reboot will be necessary after the install.
