After win 10 update, sticky notes now uses a separate taskbar tab for each note. Before update, all notes were in one tab.

***Title Modified Original: sticky notes***

    2. Scroll down to and search for Combine taskbar buttons from the right pane.
    3. Select Always, hide labels from the drop down.
    4. Close settings and check.

Additional information: How to use the taskbar in Windows 10.

    Hi Amit,

Thanks for your quick response. Technically, It does solve the problem of duplicate tabs but it's not exactly what I was hoping for. I'd still like to see the tab labels. Prior to the update, only the Sticky Notes tabs were combined but all other tabs were not, and all tabs were labeled. I'm still looking for a solution that restores my earlier configuration. I would settle for combined tabs if they had labels. Something in Win 10, version 1903 has changed Sticky Notes.

    I appreciate your help.

    Mitch

I have the same problem.  In all previous versions of Windows, the Sticky Notes app was only 1 single taskbar tab, no matter how many notes one had, and it could have its label displayed.  Now there is a separate tab open for each note!  I have a lot of notes and my taskbar is full.  I need these notes to only use 1 tab.  I also do not want my other tabs combining.  I have always hated combined tabs, generally, but I'd never even considered that separate notes could have separate tabs before.  Why did you guys break this wonderful app.  Please tell me there is a way to fix this!

I'm having the same problem and I believe this answer is more a non-optimal workaround than a solution. Sticky notes used to use only 1 tab in the taskbar, so if I had 20 sticky notes, clicking that single tab in the taskbar brought up all 20 sticky notes. After this update, each sticky note has its own tab, so if I want to bring up my 20 sticky notes, I have to click each of the 20 tabs in the taskbar. There's nothing to fix this in Sticky Notes settings. I need to bring up all my notes extensively during the day and now it's a pain to do it. This is not a windows a bug or issue, this apparently was a poor decision by the developers for this update and hopefully they'll fix it soon.

This is exactly my problem. I came to the same conclusion as you about the cause. Unless lots of people complain, MS won't bother fixing it.
