I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

Regards,

Please just so this, add text functionality...

90% of the time I want to snip something, point to or cirlce something on the snip, then add a note about that thing.

Here's how I end up using snip and sketch - take snip, highlight or circle something in snip, copy and paste into powerpoint so I can add text, re-snip picture with text. Clunky, painful and slow. Avoidable if only you added a simple text feature!

    Thanks, bye now.

Try "... -> Open With" menu item, (check three dots in right upper corner)

open snipped image with PAINT application, this will give you lot of possibilities to add text, simple shapes, etc.

Not convenient, but works anyway, used myself to add comments on screenshots

Sorry, but you said it, "not convenient".  If one were going to use PAINT, one could do Alt-PrtScrn, open Paint, and do the whole thing there, no Snip & Sketch at all.

Snip & Sketch needs a text feature to be worth using.
