I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

Regards,

Sadly this is a dead issue to Microsoft, their inaction is a loud and clear "NO".  Even though many of us want this feature and many more would use it if it was available "if" those users knew that such a thing existed, but sadly MS doesn't care and will not be adding this function anytime soon ... if at all.

I recently started using Snip & Sketch.  It is much better than PrtScreen, but the really big missing piece is not being able to add text or a shape (rectangular box/oval/circle).

For now, I have to save the file as .png and then open it from Paint to add text or shapes.  It works but it is such an inconvenience and also time consuming.

seems like the most sensible explanation was that it was designed around touch, rather than for keyboard/mouse users.
