Snip & Sketch add a text box

I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

    I would like to up vote this. I often use snip for editing purposes when groups of people are on different OS. It is the #1 way I use snip. I definitely do not have a steady hand to write or draw with this.

    Some of us would also like the ability to change the highlighter tool to black - and/or the ability to add boxes (outlines or full) and arrows - if you are going to be moving away from the snipping tool.

    I use this on a daily basis for work - taking a snip, redacting info, highlighting/outlining, or using an arrow to point something out.

    Please include these in the snip & sketch tool, or continue supporting the snipping tool.

    Microsoft is going backward seriously we can't add wording onto an snip, we are now in 2020 please people.

    Any basic phone app for editing images can do this. It pops up on the screen. The public is trained to expect this behavior. The fact that it's missing is disconcerting. 

    I both provide and receive help with app dev and user adoption. Multiple times a day I need to send someone a screen snip of a menu or dropdown box, etc. I use the marker to circle what I want the recipient to pay attention to. But very often I just need to annotate this with a few words to tell them what to do, or to ask a quick question. It would be much easier to just do this on the image itself so the recipient can see it at a glance rather than writing a separate message and having to use extra descriptive words to indicate exactly where on the snip I am referring to. The placement of text annotation on an image would take care of that and reduce or eliminate misunderstandings.
