Snip & Sketch add a text box

I understand that you want to add a text box to type a note on a snip using when using Snip & Sketch. However, I would like to inform that the feature to add a text box is currently not available.

I commend you for noticing this feature not being within Snip & Sketch. We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions, as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I would suggest you to post a feedback in Microsoft Feedback Hub so that our developing team can review your suggestions and check if it can be included in the future updates.

May I kindly suggest that you point the MS Development Team to this Forum so that they can see that it's considered a complete failure by Microsoft by not including a text option of any meaningful kind in Snip & Sketch?

And just so they know (the MS Development Team), many of us feel like this discussion has been going on too long for Microsoft to not respond - "in any meaningful way", clearly they either do not care about a simple function that many of us clearly want.  It's also possible there may be a patent issues with other software writers that's preventing MS from delivering what so many of us want, if that's the case then just say so.  Then we can decide if we just want to use Snip & Sketch as its written and stop complaining, or move on to a program that really does deliver on the features that many of us want and even need.

snip & sketch is great but... you really need to be able to either ... add a text box or allow typing a text annotation.

I am used to using the annotation tool in evernote which allows you to do pretty much anything.  

Using that as a model would serve well.

This is a real improvement from snip so... happy to have these additional tools but... Please continue adding features like

adding text and maybe even drawing a box around things.

I can draw on a snip, but it is hard to write a note with a mouse.

Can I add a text box and  type a note on a snip?

After you capture the image:

Click the three dots icon on the top right side of the screen to open the "See More" menu.

Select Open With, then Paint (which is usually installed by default on most Windows machines)

You can add text using Paint. This is the least complicated option I've found so far.

I never thought to go that route.   This is the perfect solution and allows me to

do what I was unable to do.  Until seeing your advice, I was pasting my snips into Evernote and

using the annotation there.  This will be a real time saver.
